Sensible self defence – Who are we?

The sensible self defence company is run by Dave Kerrigan. He served thirty years as a Police Officer, twenty two of those as a uniformed patrol officer. As such he has extensive knowledge of “real world situations”

Dave began studying Wing Chun Kung Fu in 1995, he attained his level one black sash in 2000 and his level two in 2002. Dave has also studied several other systems and disciplines.

In recent years it became apparent to Dave that having studied a martial art and gained a degree of understanding this in itself did not necessarily equip one for street type encounters. Also that there is far more to keeping safe on the streets and in our everyday lives than simply being able to execute a perfect roundhouse kick or apply a wrist lock.

With this in mind Dave set about designing a short course that will give attendees a set of skills allowing them to become far more aware of potential dangers and conflict situations, their own responses to such situations and what to do if the use of physical force becomes necessary.

We are based in Petersfield in Hampshire but are able to travel to locations of your choice to provide training and courses as necessary.
